Golf betting tips for The Valero Texas Open
 (in more detail):
Rickie Fowler:
  • To win outright (2 points win @ 18/1 with William Hill).

  • Current form (last 5 starts): T10 – T20 – T31 – T13 – T17.

  • Tournament form (last 4 starts): DNP – T17 – T17 – MC.

Reasons to believe – Rickie Fowler:

“I have been keeping a close eye on Rickie Fowler, waiting for him to get back into the winner’s circle. His form has been great, made x4 consecutive cuts and was T17 last week in the WGC matchplay, so signs are encouraging. I do think odds of 18/1 are a little short, but he has to win this week in order to qualify for the Masters, so with that huge added incentive, it could be his week to shine.” – ParUp Golf’s resident tipster ‘Big Dal’ on why he can win.

Matt Kuchar:
  • Each-way (1.5 points e/w @ 28/1 with William Hill

  • Current form (last 5 starts): T32 – 8 – MC – MC – T9.

  • Tournament form (last 4 starts): T51 – T7 – T12 – T2.

Reasons to believe – Matt Kuchar:

“One of the old men on tour, but still performing at a high level. He has one top ten finish in his last 5 starts (if you exclude the WGC given it was a matchplay event, but he made it out of his group last week). But most importantly he loves it here, with a T2 last year and then a top 15 and top 10 in the two years prior.” – ParUp Golf’s resident tipster ‘Big Dal’ on why he can win.

Chris Kirk:
  • Each-way (1 point e/w @ 28/1 with William Hill – 8 places, 1/5 odds).

  • Current form (last 5 starts): MC – 1 – T39 – MC – T52.

  • Tournament form (last 4 starts): T8 – MC – T6 – T35.

Reasons to believe – Chris Kirk:

“A winner already this season, but his form has been a touch inconsistent since then. He does however have x2 top 10 finishes here in the last 4 years, so I don’t think he can be written off. He should have every chance this week and I fancy him to still be involved come the business end of the tournament.” – ParUp Golf’s resident tipster ‘Big Dal’ on why he can win.

Hideki Matsuyama:
  • Each-way (1 point e/w @ 22/1 with William Hill – 8 places, 1/5 odds).

  • Current form (last 5 starts): T29 – MC – MC – 5 – T31.

  • Tournament form (last 4 starts): DNP – DNP – T30 – WD.

Reasons to believe – Hideki Matsuyama:

“If I was asked who I thought the best player was in the field this week, the answer would be Matsuyama. However a few things put me off making him the top pick. Firstly he isn’t in the best of form, although a recent 5th place finish is encouraging and a step in the right direction. Secondly, he has only registered one top 30 finish here over the years. Therefore this one could easily go either way, but the top 5 finish at The Players Championship two weeks ago is enough to give me hope.” – ParUp Golf’s resident tipster ‘Big Dal’ on why he can win.

Big Dal’s, big price outsider
– David Lingmerth
:
  • Each-way (1.5 points e/w @ 80/1 with William Hill – 8 places, 1/5 odds).

  • Current form (last 5 starts): T58 – T10 – T70 – T6 – T27.

  • Tournament form (last 4 starts): T51 – DNP – DNP – DNP.

Reasons to believe – David Lingmerth:

“Lingmerth has been going under the radar for some time now and 80/1 feels slighty overpriced. He has made x5 cuts in a row and is one of only two players this week to have x2 top ten finishes this season. Hopefully he can win at a big price this week and boost the betting bank before the Masters.” – ParUp Golf’s resident tipster ‘Big Dal’ on why he can win.
