Golf betting tips for The RBC Canadian Open
 (in more detail):
Shane Lowry:
Reasons to believe – Shane Lowry:

“Strangely it feels like Lowry has been playing below his normal high standards, but at the same time has still managed 3 x top 20 finishes in his last 5 events, so is potentially somewhat under the radar. The signs in his last 2 events have been encouraging, registering a T12 and T16 finish. When you then factor in his recent record in this event (T12, T2 and T10 in the last 3 years), I think he’ll be in the mix and contending this week.” – ParUp Golf’s resident tipster ‘Big Dal’ on why he can win.

Justin Rose:
Reasons to believe – Justin Rose:

“I initially couldn’t decide between Rose or Lowry for the top pick this week, but then settled on Lowry just based on his recent form in this event. However, happy said that, although Rose didn’t play this event for four consecutive years, he did finish T4 last year. He is also coming into this week on the back of 4 x top 25 finishes in row. With one win already this season, I wouldn’t be surprised if he doubled that tally this week.” – ParUp Golf’s resident tipster ‘Big Dal’ on why he can win.

Mark Hubbard:
  • Each-way (1 point e/w @ 100/1 with William Hill – 8 places, 1/5 odds).

  • Current form (last 5 starts): T18 – T27 – 75 – T9 – T30.

  • Tournament form (last 5 starts): T49 – T62 – DNP – DNP – T4.

Reasons to believe – Mark Hubbard:

“Hubbard has been playing well recently, with 4 x top 30 finishes in his last 5 starts. Current form is therefore clearly pretty strong and given he finished T4 here last year, I feel like he might be slightly overpriced at 100/1 and could be a lively outsider for us to cheer on.” – ParUp Golf’s resident tipster ‘Big Dal’ on why he can win.

Mackenzie Hughes:
  • Each-way (1 point e/w @ 66/1 with William Hill – 8 places, 1/5 odds).

  • Current form (last 5 starts): MC – MC – T14 – MC – MC.

  • Tournament form (last 5 starts): DNP – T32 – T8 – T4 – T48.

Reasons to believe – Mackenzie Hughes:

“It’s fair to say that Hughes is not in great form recently, but the Canadian native does have a good record in this event, having made 4 consecutive cuts in his last 4 starts, including 2 x top 10 finishes. I’m hoping that being back home and having the local crowd on side might just help him get into contention this week at a big price.” – ParUp Golf’s resident tipster ‘Big Dal’ on why he can win.

Big Dal’s, big price outsider
– Brandt Snedeker
:
  • Each-way (1 point e/w @ 200/1 with William Hill – 8 places, 1/5 odds).

  • Current form (last 5 starts): T48 – MC – MC – T59 – T41.

  • Tournament form (last 5 starts): T5 – DNP – T8 – T4 – T48.

Reasons to believe – Brandt Snedeker:

“This is clearly a big ask and I was hoping he would actually be a bigger price than 200/1, but I simply still have to include him on the shortlist. The last few years have been tough for Snedeker and this is only his second event of the year due to injury. He finished a respectable T41 last week on his first event back and has a great record in this event, with 3 x top 10 finishes in his last 4 visits. So I’ll be having a small each-way interest at a big price and hoping he can find some of the old magic this week.” – ParUp Golf’s resident tipster ‘Big Dal’ on why he can win.
