The Masters Tournament Betting Preview 2025

Masters Tournament

It’s that time of the year again…make sure the social calendar is kept completely empty all weekend, take up the prime position on the sofa, with full control of the TV remote and have a pile of takeaway menus within easy reach! It’s Masters weekend!

The Masters Tournament at Augusta National typically (and unofficially I think) signifies the start of the golf season, especially for the more social golfer anyway, those playing in golf groups and golf societies (the hardcore are playing all year round, in all kinds of brutal conditions!).

To make the Masters Tournament even more enjoyable to watch over the weekend, there are often lots of social golf betting competitions, sweepstakes and fantasy type games to play within your golf group or golf society. With this in mind and to potentially provide some inspiration (or more likely provide you with a list of players to avoid!), we have spoken to the team behind ParUp Golf about all things the Masters Tournament and golf betting…

The team behind ParUp Golf – Ian Lowther

  1. What do you love most about the Masters Tournament?
The course itself, it always looks immaculate. I’ve watched it so many times over the years, I feel like I know almost every hole now (where to hit it and where not to hit it). I’m sure that would count for absolutely nothing if I was ever lucky enough to play there though!

  2. What is the best bet you’ve had on the Masters Tournament?
I’ve had some good winners over the years, which is purely down to backing those players with good course form. Augusta is very much a horses for courses job! I think the most I’ve won was when Dustin Johnson won in 2020 and the biggest price winner would have been Zach Johnson back in 2007 at 125/1.

  3. What is the worst bet you’ve had on the Masters Tournament?
This one is easy! I backed KJ Choi to win the par 3 contest one year for a bit of fun (never again!), he was leading the event and then let his very young child hole out on one of the final greens…which ended up being something like a 5 putt from about 2 feet!

  4. Who do you think will win the 2025 Masters Tournament?
It’s a boring answer and not my usual model (I prefer the bigger odds!), but I think it might finally be time for Rory to get over the line! I’m going Rory McIlroy at 8/1. Maybe my heart is ruling my head here, but I’d love to see him get the job done.

  5. What is your more speculative tip (a big price outsider!) for the 2025 Masters Tournament?
I’m getting creative here and hoping to win big on day one! In the first-round leader market, I’m backing Will Zalatoris at 50/1 (really good course form and he has an early tee time on Thursday so he can get off to a flyer and set the number in the clubhouse).

The team behind ParUp Golf – Andy Dymock

  1. What do you love most about the Masters Tournament?
Two things – the fact it’s the first major of the year – it’s been a while since the last, and of course the usual final day drama! Just makes you want to get out and play golf!

  2. What is the best bet you’ve had on the Masters Tournament?
Being a mug punter who bets with his heart, I don’t have too many to shout about. It must be Tiger Woods in 2019 @ 16s – I wanted to see him win again, but really didn’t expect it.

  3. What is the worst bet you’ve had on the Masters Tournament?
Too many to choose from! All those who failed to make the cut over the years…

  4. Who do you think will win the 2025 Masters Tournament?
No idea, but would love to see Bobby MacIntyre (50/1) & Rory McIlroy (8/1) both competing on the final day! Any European winner will do…

  5. What is your more speculative tip (a big price outsider!) for the 2025 Masters Tournament?
He has the most impressive mullet in golf, Cameron Smith. Runner up in 2020 and I have a feeling we may see a LIV Golf winner this year. Smith is 60/1.
