New Release: More Event Info & Freeze Leaderboard

Social golf app new features

Extra Event Info. Added Suspense. More Bragging Rights!

You asked. We listened. We built.

We’ve been busy behind the scenes, taking on board your feedback and ideas to make ParUp even better for golf groups and societies. So we have delivered; More Event Info for Admins to share with their Members and Freeze the Leaderboard to help keep the suspense of who has won for the Clubhouse!

This latest release brings two new features designed to make your events easier to organise and even more fun to play.

More event info…

Everything your Members need to know. All in one place.

How many times does the same question pop up in the group WhatsApp?

  • “Where are we playing and do you know the postcode?”
  • “What is the team setup for the event?”
  • “Which holes are chosen for nearest the pin and longest drive?”

Admins can now add even more information to an event, giving Members everything they need to know without having to dig through old WhatsApp messages.

The Event Info page can now show:

  • Team setup – e.g. Teams of 4 – Best 2 Balls Count
  • Series information – see which series or competition the event counts towards
  • Group handicap settings – see whether the event contributes towards automatic group handicap calculations
  • Course location – the golf club postcode now links directly to Google Maps
  • Additional information – Admins can now add their own notes and highlight anything else Members may need to know
  • Side games – see which games are being played and which holes they’re on, e.g. Nearest the Pin – 4th & 9th

So, before the first tee shot is hit, everyone knows what’s happening, where they need to be and what they’re playing for.

Less WhatsApp. Less admin. More golf.

Freeze the Leaderboard

Keep the suspense for the clubhouse!

Golfers love a live leaderboard. But sometimes… you don’t want to know.

Especially when there are four holes left, a few points between the leaders and someone is trying to work out whether they’ve actually got a chance of winning.

That’s where Freeze the Leaderboard comes in.

So as well as adding more event info, Admins can now also choose to freeze the leaderboard once players have completed 14 holes.

From that point:

  • The leaderboard stops updating for Members
  • Final four holes are hidden
  • Scores on those holes are replaced by black circles on the expanded leaderboard scorecards
  • Members can still see how many holes each player has completed, but not how they’ve scored on those final four holes

The Admin(s), however, can still see the full live leaderboard.

Once everyone has finished and all scores are in, the Admin can then reveal who the winners and the losers are at the Clubhouse awards presentation…

  • Who won?
  • Who bottled it?
  • And who thought they had it in the bag after 14 holes?

No peeking. No spoilers. Just the big reveal.

Once the Admin has made the presentation, they can then finalise the leaderboard and reveal all scores and the finalised leaderboard to all the group members to look back on.

You Asked. We Built It.

A huge part of what we build at ParUp comes directly from the golfers using the app.

Your feedback, ideas and feature requests help shape what comes next — so keep them coming!

We’re already working on more ways to make organising your group easier and your golf days more competitive, social and fun.

Less WhatsApp. More golf. More bragging rights.
